That includes students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) majors, students of color, and low-income students too. Fewer years in college means fewer tuition payments and a lower cost of degree.

    Many students who attend public institutions and take longer to complete their degrees end up, in effect, paying more for their degrees than students at private colleges who graduate in four years.
